CA Wells - Mermail Pocket Purse class

CA Wells will be here the end of February and we have selected her projects. One is a pre-stitching project - the Mermaid Pocket Purse. The class will be Sunday, February 24 from 9:30am - 4:30pm and you will need to pre-stitch the band and the bottom of the purse before class. We'll spend our class time assembling the purse so you'll learn how to join linen-linen and linen-silk, all from the outside. We expect to receive the kits around Christmas and they will be sent when we have received your payment for the class of $195. You can sign-up on-line or by calling the shop.

As with all of CA's projects we are not able to sell the kits without your attending the class.

We will post the details of the other two projects in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned...

Phillipa Turnbull coming in a month!

Phillipa will be here in a month to teach a wonderful leaf motif from a chair in Leven's Hall, located in Cumbria England. It's a 6 inch detail in blues, browns and reds with 2 variations of laid and couch work, and a modified coral stitch. Class fee is $140 and includes your kit, lunch and the lecture after class. You'll also get to use one of Phillipa's seat frames during class to make stitching easier. Class is Sunday January 6th from 9:30am - 3:30pm.

A lecture will follow from 4pm - 5pm and is open to those not in the class for a fee of $25 (it is included in your class fee).

Phillipa won't be back again until 2010 so be sure to catch her in 2008!!! Check our Class page for more details or give us a call.

My Big Toe Designs Trunkshow - Nov/Dec

We've have just scheduled a great trunkshow for end of the year - My Big Toe Designs. Debbie will be sending us several of her larger models (Namesake and the Lord's Prayer) and we get an extended time to bond with them :-).  Expected dates for the trunkshow are November 10th - December 29th. We hope you'll get a chance to visit the shop during the trunkshow. You can order most of her charts through our online catalog and we'll have plenty during the trunkshow.

Beau Geste Classes September 21st - 26th

We have finalized all the classes for Deborah Wilson's visit to the shop in September and the information has been posted to the web site. In addition to the Jacobean Fruits and Flowers and Gilded Butterfly classes, Deborah will be teaching two evening classes - Warm & Toasty Snowman and Graphic Heart.

Sandy Grossman Designs Trunk Show Is Here!

We're pleased to have our May trunkshow be from Sandy Grossman Designs. Sandy has wonderfully inventive designs from MP3 case fronts to night sconce covers. Her canvases are computer printed so are quite affordable as well as great quality. Sandy's trunkshow will be at the shop through May 27th.

Sandy will be at the shop for a bit on Saturday morning May 12th at 11am. So if you'd like to meet the designer in person, come by May 12th between 11am and noon so say hello to her. You can see Sandy's online catalog on her website.

Kelly Clark Needlepoint Trunshow is here!

We have received and set up our Kelly Clark Needlepoint Trunkshow. We'll have the show through April 24th. Kelly's style is very "old world", reminiscent of early 1900s designs. We have a wide range of canvases from small ornaments to stockings, some florals and even Halloween designs.

Be sure to stop by the store before the 24th to see these unique needlepoint designs.

Jody Designs Trunkshow has arrived!

We have a great trunkshow from Jody Designs from now through February 18th. Jody does a wide variety of ornaments, from Christmas to other fun styles. She's sent us a pretty large selection of her line of hand-painted canvases so come in early for the best selection! Remember, it's only now through Sunday February 18th!

Projects finalized for Phillipa Turnbull & CA Wells

We have finalized class projects with both Phillipa Turnbull and CA Wells for their early 2007 classes. Photos and descriptions are now on the website and you can sign up for all of them.

Phillipa is teaching 2 classes in the SF area, one for SF Stitch (a new shop in SF) and the other for us. We've arranged it with her so that's she teaching a beginning crewel class for Patricia at SF Stitch on Friday night and on Sunday a more intermediate/advanced class for us. So if you've never done crewel before you should take the class Friday night and then you can also take the Sunday class with us. If you done crewel before (for example you took the January 2006 class from Phillipa) then you can sign up for just the Sunday class. Phillipa, Patricia and I wanted to make sure that different levels were acommodated during Phillipa's teaching visit. You'll find our class information on the Classes page.

The other two projects CA Wells will be teaching are a Padded Whitework Bag and a new Cottage Needlecase. The Padded bag is big enough for a cell phone or PDA and is completely lined. The Cottage Needlecase is a new design and is different from the Needle Niche which CA taught for us in 2003. The form factor is the same but the surface design is different.

We have the models in the store for all three of CA's projects. It's rare we have models to show off but CA loaned them to us for a bit so if you're debating about which classes to sign up for be sure to come by the shop and see them. The Sailor's Valentine has to be seen to be believed!

Sign-ups are open for CA Wells class

We are now taking sign-ups for CA Well's Sailor's Valentine - March 10th, 2007. This class requires pre-stitching and kits will be available in early December. For details on the class and to signup, please visit our Sailor's Valentine class page.

Beau Geste Trunk Show In Progress

The Beau Geste trunk show has arrived and is out for you to check out at the shop. The canvases represent a large range of the Beau Geste line and there are great canvases for your next stitching project! We'll have the show through October 1st. Deborah Wilson will be here September 22-24 to teach and you'll have a chance to come by the shop and meet this wonderful designer in person.
