We have received our shipment of the new Soy Luster threads from The Pure Palette. There are 82 colors (42 solids, 40 shadows) and they are all luscious. The thread is 100% Soy but looks and feels like silk. For those allergic to silk you might give it a try. Lynda, the owner of The Pure Palette, is allergic to the Formaldahyde used to process most silk threads and wanted something with a similar look and feel but that she could use. The resulting thread is a twisted fiber and really unlike anything else on the market. You can use mulitple strands for great coverage on needlepoint canvas or a single strand on many counted-thread fabrics. It stitches up beautifully and doesn't pill or get fuzzy, even when working with longer lengths.
We have added Soy Luster to our online catalog and it is available in the store now.
Due to insufficient sign-ups for David's Class on April 1st and 2nd we've had to cancel the class. It was time for travel arrangements and final numbers for the canvas kits to be put together and we just didn't have enough people to make it cost effective. I know a lot of people expressed interest in his class but too few followed up with signing up.
We still have some slots open in Saturday's (March 18th) Embroidery Shaker Box top class. Mike Swan will be teaching Embroidery and Silk Ribbon Embroidery to embellish this fun project, suitable for a sewing box lid. Check out our class page for more details.
